Amateur Radio
I was first licensed in 1966 at the young age of
15. I operate a Flex 6300 software defined radio in CW, SSB,
and
digital modes. I also have a Yaesu FTM-400DR mounted in my
Jeep. I am usually beaconing APRS while on the trail.
Off Road
I recently replaced my aging Jeep Wrangler TJ with a
new 2013 Wrangler JK. I have it tricked out with a variety of
communivations and navigation equipment including a permanently mounted
Windows 8 computer with 4G comms.
Photography
I enjoy nature photography and usually have cameras
at the ready while I am on the trail. I shoot with a Canon
50D
and 400D. I also have a variety of dash cameras and GoPro
cameras
mounted on the jeep.
Welcome to my Website
This is the place that I like to display my hobbies and
interests. I also have a lot of opinions, and if you care
what they are, you can read them on my WordPress Blog. You
can comment too, but you'll have to send me an email and introduce
yourself. If I just use the signup utility on WordPress, I
get several hundred spam requests from Russia and China. I
have no idea why they find me of any interest. I also host the
online forum for the Maricopa Amateur Radio Association. You
can find that on the menu at the top of this page.
